National Animal Rescue Service. (NARS)

The UK was the first nation to field national and international Animal Rescue teams
(National Animal Rescue Association, (NARA) to respond to emergencies involving animals world-wide.

Since its inception in 1969, NARS volunteer officers have carried out over 50,000 rescue missions by land,
sea and air both in the UK and abroad. Also all British Civil Defence Teams have at least two NARS officers within its ranks while working overseas.
Officers are trained and certificated to carry out life saving responses both for humans and animals.
The service publishes a newsletter three monthly.

Donations and active members are now urgently needed to maintain the current high level of response to the needs of sick, trapped and injured animals and birds.
