The Civil Defence Arboretum Memorial Grove

British Civil Defence volunteers are currently raising money to complete the UK Civil Defence War Memorial project in the National Memorial Arboretum within the National Forest at Croxhall, near Tamworth, in the West Midlands. Thus far the money for plot preparation, landscaping, paths, hedges, trees, shrubs, hard-standing and display board has been raised. The memorial stones are in place and inscribed.

At long last those who died or were seriously injured and the animals that worked with them between 1939 -1945 can be remembered. The memorial commemorates the loss of over 7,000 Civil Defenders. They gave their lives in defence of the people.
Successive governments have for 50 years consistently failed to remember and honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Please help us complete this project with a much needed donation by contacting the Director General's office, BCD,

We will update this page soon with further information.
